History

CEAP was founded in 1970 as a response to the growing need for human services in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. In 1987 CEAP opened a second office in Anoka County to aid residents in that area. And in 2004 CEAP extended its financial assistance and Transporation Solutions Loan Program into Mounds View and New Brighton. The expansion of our services is a true testament to the value of our work, and would not be possible without the help of community leaders, volunteers, businesses, and donors. In 1971, CEAP distributed approximately 20,000 pounds of food to local families. In 2009, we were up to over 905,500 pounds. We help thousands of clients with our programs.

Mission

The mission of CEAP is to stabilize individuals and families in financial distress and to maximize their ability to live independently and with dignity.
