MACC Civic Engagement Initiative reaches many

new voters in 2008

Fall 2008 was an exciting and historic time for the MACC Alliance of Connected Communities. Through outreach, training and mobilization efforts, we were able to engage a number of MACC member agencies and thousands of community members around the 2008 elections and the critical issues facing families and children across the Twin Cities. Together, we:

* Facilitated "Election Year Do's & Don'ts for Nonprofits" workshops for MACC member agencies.

* Sponsored 3 candidate forums

* Registered many new voters

* In collaboration with the Election Day Community Coalition, we engaged in nonpartisan Get-out-the-Vote efforts - knocking on doors, making phone calls & providing rides to the polls on Election Day.

Thanks to all who were involved!
